Just a question about using my new sony 46 inch 1080P for a computer monitor. Is all I need a DVI to HDMI cable? And do those cables even exsist. And if so will it look good or is it not worth it? I have a new triple SLI machine and right now I play all my console games on it so I figured why not pc games also.

Most TV's have overscan, which means the edges of the computer-generated image will be cropped off. There is frequently a way to turn this off though. You should check your TV manual.

If you have triple-SLI on a 1080p TV, then dang you are going to have amazing performance. Nice!

your max resoloution is 1900x1000 or whatever 1080p reoloution is so no it wont neccisarily look better than a 24 (1920x1200)inch monitor or a 30inch(2500x1600)  monitor but Ibet it will look alright dont know until you try I currently run my pc on a 720P tv that runs 1366x768 and I get really bad jaggies in some games and will be upgrading to a 30 innch monitor in the next couple of months. With tri sli You can handle any resoloution.

Thanks I guess I will check and see if I have one or I will ask DS for one. DS has been so nice to me im afraid they think everytime I ask for something I am trying to get free stuff but I hope they know I am more than happy to pay for the things I ask for. I still am frustrated about having to send my system in so many times but DS customer service is AMAZING. I will say it again its AMAZING.

Well I have a top of the line new sony 46" lcd. But in the instructions it says if you use the HDMI for a pc it will read it as video refresh rates instead of PC refresh rates so it says you have to change the tv settings. I wasnt sure what it meant and what to change. But what should I set the PC settings to for a 46" screen. I have a $10,000 system with 3 GTX-280's so if this is possible my PC can do it no problem I just have never used a TV for this so I am not sure on what settings to use. Anyone know what is the best settings and best connection to use? Thanks in advance

Dont get the new sony!! Dont get me wrong sony does make good HDTVs but the Samsung 8 and 9 seires have much better picture quality and you dont have to pay for the sony name which is always extra. I have an ln52a850 and it blows any sony away and the 950 is even better. You cant go buy how they look inthe stores all HDTVs have a special setup for in stores. Reset the tv and use the inhome settings then make your pick.
