CCleaner is fantastic, you can:
clean your system/apps temp files. edit your startup apps uninstall apps, CCleaner has one of the best uninstallers that I have seen. registry cleaning (you don't really want to use this one, unless you know what you are doing there ) defrager I use O&O defrag, its a great one, better then the other 2 popular brands. here is what people need to understand, you don't need more apps to keep system safe and clean. all you need are these: eset security suite (firewall and anti virus) spysweeper (best anti spyware app right now) CCleaner O&O defrag Acronis true image (backup) thats it. eset (nod32) will keep your system virus free and safe, as long as everybody uses common sense (don't download and install things without scanning them with eset and SS, keep your securtiy apps's defenitions/database upto date at all times). spysweeper will keep the trojens/malware out. CCleaner is your maid, it cleans the junk in the system when you run it. You can use it to modify (enable, disable, delete) your startup apps. You can use it to uninstall apps. O&O will defrag your drive and keep those sectors nice and efficient. Acronis will let you clone your drive, so even if your HDD frys completely, you could careless, cause you made a clone 3 days ago using Acronis, and you are 2 minutes away from being back on your desktop. all of combined with common sense = untouchable PC. you will see some people have 2 or more anti spyware, sometimes I have even seen people with 2 different anti virus and firewall at the same time. It all not necessary and those people have a false sense of security. More security apps do not in anyway equal more protection, they only equal more headaches and more processes running the background. all you need is a quality AV and firewall, eset takes care of that and its ones of the fastest/lightest scanners. a quality anti spyware, SS takes care of that. those with common sense = security. then you got your other 3 apps for maintenance (CCleaner, O&O and Acronis). thats it. rest is pointless. you mean the ones that promise you faster internet speeds? no, that like saying "I can put 2 liter of water, in this one liter jar".
those are all scams. if your connections ever gets bottled-up its your max half open tcp connention limit, you just change that. unless its malware and such, which then means that either your security apps are not upto date or the person did not use common sense. CCleaner does that too, but as I mentioned you don't want to use any registry cleaners unless you know what you are doing.

It a had retard-proof coloring system, suspicious entries would be colored red, green would be safe to get rid of, etc.. |

Does not matter, everything it marks as safe or dangerous are not definitely that.
that is the problem with the registry cleaners, none of them have a 100% accuracy rate, which is why you need to know what you are doing, cause there are gonna be key that the app thinks is OK to delete, but in actuality may not be. |

It also gave you an option to back up your reg. before you do any kind of cleaning on it. It looked like a well-though out app. to me. |

CCleaner does that too, almost all do that, but if you get the wrong key and you don't know what you are doing, good luck on getting to that backup to begin with.
As a rule, anytime you do anything with your registry, you first backup your registry. thats rule number one, always backup registry before making any changes to it. |

Not sure if DS does that, knowing the registry and all the apps installed and their reg keys and associations in the registry, is not something anybody can do.
