I know i should prob call them but does anyone know what brand gtx 260 DSO uses along with the model and if its the 216 version?

so is getting the standard 260 OC'd a viable option? would see a diff or should i just leave it at stock speeds?

DS generally uses stock cards only of the XFX, EVGA or Zotac brands.
 
 
Might i add the core 216 is actually a lot different then the stock 260s. Though i dont think DS sells them, but you maybe able to special request it. Its basically a slightly improved basic stock card. It has extra processor cores. Thereby giving it greater overall horsepower potental. I say potental because if you can get a decent core 216 to the speeds of the overclocked versions, youll be slightly faster then those versions due to the extra cores.

I say if you need the power then OC the card but I'm sure its gonna be lots hotter and I'm sure the 216 and XXX do run warmer then the stock version

yea i totally agree im not gonna push my luck i use to read alot more and ocing back on the 6000/7000 series nvidias didnt do much imo for taking the risk

if you do a moderate OC it shoud be fine, fold with my gpu and I have oced my 8600m GT to match a 8700m GT.

if you got a good case with good air flow, you can try it and see how it takes
