Hi all i just purchased a vanquish lvl 4 and i am just so excited, this will be my first gaming pc ever (i use to have an old one but it was my friends that he gave to me since he got a new one). But anyways i just had a few questions, first what size of monitor would be good for the lvl 4? I looked at benq's the 24 and 27 ones just cant decide lol...second i dont know much bout computers but with the recent changes to the vanquish, is it still just as good except with a few changes here and there? Thank you in advance!! Now just have to wait patiently....grr i want it neowz!!!

Congrats on the new rig and welcome to DS!!

Either one of those displays will be fine. Go with what will fit your space and budget - any 1080p display will play well with the 770 in the L4 Vanquish.

You cannot get a better performing machine anywhere else. All changes made the the Vanquish lineup benefit the end user.

I went with the Asus vs248h-p with the level 3 vanquish I ordered, but if you can afford it I would say go with Asus vg248

I really like the Dell U2412M ... everything I've seen on that has been excellent.

The Vanquish II 4 has room to upgrade, but it comes 'as-is' without any DS customization beyond the original build.

Check the thread on Vanquish II benchmarks.  This model is still the best you will get for the cost.

Enjoy your new machine.

I would becareful what size monitor you get. I got a 22" wide screen monitor going up from a 15". It hurt my eyes at first until I pushed the monitor way back. Just a little word of caution. If you have a desk make sure you have the room to move it back if you need too. Must likely you will need too.

jkim... Congrats on the new rig.   Nice system.

You new rig can easily handle a 24" monitor at 1920x1080 resolution. An IPS monitor like the Dell UltraSharps, among many others, are a bit more $$, but have the best color and contrast. Plenty have the TN panels also and are happy, so really your choice.

He is right.  Apparently, from reading around, the two best 24" monitors are:

Asus VG248QE.  TN display, 1ms, 144hz

Or if you prefer an IPS display..

Dell UltraSharp U2412M.  IPS display, 8ms, 60hz

A really good article on 24" monitors (with a link to 27"s) can be found here:  http://bestgamingmonitorden.com/

Edit*.... The Asus VG248QE is offered by DS in their display section...  $300

You might want to look at the one available G-Sync monitor. For games that support it is should significantly improve performance: http://www.digitalstormonline.com/nvidia-g-sync.asp

You might be able to request that the management office signs and holds it for you...

You can usually ask the shipper to hold it at there facility for you to pickup. That would be another option.

If you do take that option, make sure you take a vehicle than can carry the box.

Hey Nav, do you think BART or ACTransit will mind if I carry it on?

Due to some personal current events, and the fact that the VanqII prices are going up, I just might have to trust them to get me between here and there, soon! ...
