We are excited to announce the launch of the new VANQUISH 5 gaming PC! After taking customer feedback, we have opened limited customization options. Check it out: http://www.digitalstorm.com/vanquish-5.asp

Depending on which of the four versions you choose (Level 1 - Level 4), you will be able to change the following:

-Processor
-Memory
-Storage
-Graphics Card
-Wireless Networking
-Custom Color Wire Sleeves
-Operating System

Note: The Level 1 and Level 2 configurations do not allow processor or memory modifications due to the H110 chipset motherboard.

And yes, all VANQUISH 5 orders will include stage update emails as they are all "build-to-order" and not "pre-built" as before. This will help prevent confusions and prevent missed delays.

Nice.     Should put to rest all the talk of stage updates and give customers options for those that don't feel comfortable doing their own.

Still like pre built idea but this is more customer friendly.

Will the cooler going in to the V5L4 be controled by link software or just run off the motherboard and BIOS?

Just ordered last night. Barebones Vanquish 5 level 3 which will update my 2008 DT build. Still works, just slowing down.

When first released, the processor overclock wasn't mandatory and now at least on the level 3 it is. Anyway we can have the option to NOT overclock the processor? If not, you should removed the processors from the configurator that are not overclockable.

Hi CougarX6.... With the Vanquish 5 you do have the option to pick a locked processor, the 6500.   Not being an unlocked K chip, DS won't overclock.

Not sure that answered the question.

Also has the 6700 option, non k, for those wanting hyperthreading and a bit faster clock.   No overclock.

If I pick the locked processor, I get a pop up that there is a 'compatibility' issue that has to be resolved before it can be added to the cart, because there is no longer an option to NOT overclock the processor.  It wasn't like that until today.  The section for Overclocking is mandatory, with no option to NOT have the processor overclocked.  I'm just not interested in having the processor overclocked and it also makes the system more expensive (the 6500 is cheaper than the K chip).  Not sure why they changed it.

We removed the flag that would trigger if you select a non-K series CPU on the Level 3 or Level 4. You can now place an order with the 6500 CPU, while still having the "Overclocking" selected as you cannot remove it. However, we will not overclock your system.

Figured it was a simple fix.     Not everyone wants an overclock and this just gives customers more of what they want.

Since I just started shopping for a gaming PC in May, I didn't know the Vanquish5 I ended up getting was such a new model!  Just lucky timing on my part!

And, I might add... a terrific machine!

Hey krazy, hows it been, i remember we got our computers within a few days of each other. Mines still running well, the 6600k is a smoking fast processor felt no need to get a upgrade even to this day. But the gtx 970 is getting long in the tooth, so im going to get a mild upgrade to that soon. Hold off till PCIE 4 which is slated for release next year. And old graphics cards arent going to be compatible.
