Okay, so i watched the review/ unboxing on the vanquish page, and he had gotten Windows 8 with his, how is that?

At one point they started offering Windows 8 on them. After awhile they reverted back to windows 7.

My guess is sales went down or people were requesting windows 7 and holding off until it was available.

I know I was pushed over the edge to buy the DS Vanquish Level 4 when I did because it came with Windows 7.

Had it come with windows 8 I likely would have bought somewhere else which I would have hated to do.

Ah, okay. I guess ill just stick to windows 7.... installing a new windows and drivers are always a pain in the @@@

I think the Vanquish line responds a lot to specific consumer demands while also trying to keep price points as the main consideration. In this case, Windows 7 is still popular for a large market segment and its probably easier for DS to incorporate into better pricing models due to the backlog of licenses.
