Topic: Vanquish Lvl 4 vs ODE Lvl 1 Posted: 26 Aug 2013 at 7:14pm |
1 - I'm gaming on a 5 year old 22 inch display at its native 1680 x 1050 resolution. I'll probably keep this diplay for another 4-5 years ... through the lifespan of my next rig purchase. Is a 700 series GeForce video card overkill for such a display? I don't want to overpay for a videocard if it's power will be unused. Or maybe I'll need the 700 series power in a couple years on more demanding games if I want to keep it in the rig? Thoughts??
2 - Looking at the Vanquish Lvl 4 ($1.399) vs the ODE Lvl 1 ($1,466), the Vanquish is $67 less expensive, yet includes an additional solid state drive and a slightly better video card (GTX 770 vs GTX 760) ... am I missing something or is the Vanquish Lvl 4 a no-brainer over the ODE Lvl 1?? 3 - Is there any mainenance rquired by the owner on the liquid cooling in the Vanquish Lvl 4 (Corsair H60 Liquid CPU Cooler)? Thanks for your help!

For the money, I'd go with the L4 Vanquish. The 770 will help future-proof your system (both on newer games as well as if you ever upgrade your monitor - heck, that $67 savings puts you about 1/3 the way to a 1920x1080 monitor! ). The Corsair water coolers are closed loop meaning maintenance free.

I would say go with the Vanquish Level 4. The SSD, graphics and closed loop liquid cooler make it a no brainer over the ODE.
Custom liquid cooling takes maintenance, the closed loop one in the Vanquish does not. These a sealed systems and so there is no way to do maintenance anyway. ;-) |
