Would a 150gb veloci raptor hard drive be enough space for vista 64 bit home premium and for me to play my games I uninstall games I don't use.

I think 150gb is more than enough for games. Now if you want to have a ton of media and stuff you're gonna need a second hard drive.

yes it should be, however if I were you, I would wait for vertex II to come out and see its prices, since its gonna be much faster then a veloci

The 150Gb v-raptor is enough but it will fill up quick and remember once you get a HDD past about 60% full or so you start loseing proformance. When I had my OS/games on my 150VR I used up 74Gb's fast with only three games installed and I dont download moveis or music on my pc. Harleyman told me I should only install my most demanding games(crysis, warhead) on my OS drive and play the less demanding ones from my secondary drive. Also all of my monitoring/testing(gpu-z ect...) programs were on my second drive as well and I still used 74Gb's. So if you get a 500Gb HDD to go with your V-raptor you shouldnt have to uninstall any games un less you really want to.

I went with the 300Gb V-raptor to avoid eventually having to move stuff. I have had my system for just a couple weeks and was surprised how quickly I used up 80 Gb of storage. My old PC had 80 Gb and I figured 300Gb would last forever, I also have a standard 500Gb drive for the junk like pictures and music.
I guess I am suggesting that the 300Gb might have some advantages for you. If you are like me you will be pushing 100Gb within a few weeks. Maybe the 150GB will be enough but I am more than comfortable with the 300GB at this point.

Nobody here has fought for the raptor more then me, but when its right you have to say its right, and right now the vertex 2 coming out is the gonna be better then the raptor, so if you gonna spend your money you might as well see how much a vertex is, cause if the price is close, the performance sure is not, as the vertex 2 is a beast.
thats my 2 cents |

its not out yet, so I got no link for it
it will max out sata's 300MB/s limit on both read and write and has no seektime.
if when sata 3.0 comes out with 750MB/s you can see faster speeds with vertex II then what it does on sata 2.0. Edited by DST4ME - 12 Mar 2009 at 4:01am |

Since I am very close to my final build, will the vertex 2 be faster than the veloc for FPS gamimg? Benefits..... only load time? I can wait for the launch. Thanks, Gio

Wow, that just blew me away. I bet the 160gb is probably going to be $5,000 by itself or something...
