Was looking over the pc configurator earlier working on my final build and noticed these drives are no longer available.  I know they were put up 2 days ago was there a reason for there removal?  If one of the DSO staff could answer I was in the process of finishing my order but on hold now.

Maybe a shortage, or DS is delaying in getting them. and they dont wanna have people get pissed if they have to wait a month+ after they already ordered.

I didnt even know they were out yet.

These drives were never even supposed to be on our configurator.  These drives are not available to the public until 6/1.  Our webmaster was just a little excited...

Cool that makes sense, after I saw them here I looked over at newegg/tigerdirect to see what the current price point was for them.  Nothing was showing up so figured either they had just released and supplies were limited.

I like the price change on the 88Ultra though. A few days ago it was 100 bucks more then a 9800GX2, now its 60 bucks cheaper. Very tempting.

Now its gonna be an impulse buy when I order tomorrow whether I get the 88U or the 98GX2. Still compared to the 88GTS and 98GTX, the GX2 is a steal for DS pricing right now. The extra memory bandwith of the 88Ultra is not something to be ignored. The major problem with the 98GX2 other then the idle heat is the gimped memory on it. 512 just really isnt enough for 1900x1200+ high end games, and it will probably only get worse in the future..so im somewhat ancy about the futureproof the GX2. Then again..it would take a huge bite out of the price of a new 99 card should i use a step-up.

Oh well...trying to figure out just which card is the better deal right now..haha. im actually sorta leaning towards the ultra..but we will see.

and..

Yea yea..blah blah the 98GX2 is just 2 88GTS cards blah blah....but its 107 bucks cheaper then 2 88GTS cards right now at least on DS =P. So yea..thats a good deal.

Can you please tell your webmaster, to fix the multitude of web-links that are broken. I am talking about those product information links that appear once you click on the button next to the drop-down list in the configurator. I would say about 50% of all those links are broken.

I have commented on this before, but nothing has been done to fix those links.
