Looks like a pretty solid Velox build. Best gaming cpu, and fully Overclocked Stage 2. Solid MSI mobo, plenty of good Corsair RAM...
Suggestions... You can drop to the 850W Corsair PSU and still have plenty of power, but you get a much better Corsair warranty. The DS parts only carry the 1 yr system parts warranty. I would upgrade cooler to the Corsair H115i 280mm AIO for better cooling performance. That’s about it! |

My experience to date is that the level 2 overclocking is not worth it. 9900KS with stage 2 was shipped at 4900. Technical Support called back 12/18 and did not have experience with the 9900KS and said I would receive a call back which has not occurred. Tech updated to newly released motherboard bios (my request) which left me running at 4400. Unfortunately, it also left me unable to boot into Windows. I finally was able to get figure out a kludge fix to get back into Windows Sunday night. Spent my time researching overclocking and I have all cores running at now 5100 using only 2.190 volts with all cpu core temperatures mostly between 65-70 and appears stable with some stress testing so far. Asked for tech. to have Alex give me a call to see about a refund for the stage two overclocking which I have yet to receive. I understand that the Holiday rush has overwhelmed Digital Storm- still was not fun only looking at the AventumX for days.

Feel free to send me an email ([email protected]) and we can refund the overclocking.
Glad you're up and running, sorry for the hiccup. |

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm still kinda on the fence about ordering...been reading some reviews. They have not been good.

What I can tell you is that I have bought 4 DS rigs since 2011, including a 2019 Lumos my son uses. All four rigs still serve 24/7 and never fail to impress. That kind of quality is why most of us on the forum and many others continue coming back to buy again from DS. Not everyone will be happy with any purchase of course, but with a DS rig you can decide for yourself what components you want in your build...then have it all hand assembled and stress tested before shipping. Shipping knocks can cause some problems you may see mentioned in posts here, but all companies have to contend with shipping damage issues... DS takes pretty good care of it's customers. You also get lifetime support, so you can ask for help or ask questions about your rig down the road.

Three time purchaser since 2010. I have never had an issue with any of my DS rigs. That is, I have never had ANY issue with my DS rigs. The 2010 one I retired after 8 years of constant use. I ran it 24/7 for eight years, only turning it off to reboot as needed or if I was out of town. Just lucky? Don't think so.
I wouldn't buy a custom build anywhere else. |
