Budget:
3000 Expectations: [Please Type Here] Usage: Gaming and media Hey all, Just wanted to get an opinion on the configuration for a Velox I'm going to purchase. Should be fairly simple just want it decked out in all the glowing blue as possible and will be using it primarily for gaming and small game development. Should I go with the standard build or do you all suggest any changes? Going with all blue along with the liquid cooling. Thanks in advance. |

Which level Velox configuration did you have in mind ? A lot will depend on the monitor resolution you'll be using when selecting the video card.
Put a config together and post its config number for better feedback. |

I don't know much about configurations I just know my budget and that I want it to last some time. Decked out in glowing blue and able to handle any game I throw at it. I do a bit of indie game design but not on the coding or graphics end. I was just hoping someone might have the time to throw a Velox build together that would be worth the monies. I had a build saved to post but it looks like I lost the config number 😫

Do you have a monitor already? or do you know what resolution you will be using? That is key for the graphics hardware (gpu) you will be using. Let us know.

That is a nice configuration from the configuration guruYou can add the blue fans for an extra 100 but shipping will take it over the 3K limit. Also, you can save 50GB on the ssd and $5 by just ordering the W installation cd only instead of the partition. Decisions, decisions...

Nice catch, hoserator. Meant to add the Windows CD for Recovery option.
Time for another cup of coffee. |

Coffee is always needed 😊 thanks for the build. As for monitor ill be buying a new one we just purchased a new house so I'm spoiling myself with a new rig. Most likely a 4k one and we also use the PC for the TV living room because I use it for our TV as well instead of purchasing cable. 😁

If you want to game at 4K with some of the more demanding shooters, etc then a gtx 1080 or 1080 ti would be better. The gtx 1070 will play less demanding games, the 1080 will be about 20% stronger and the 1080 Ti another 30% or so over the 1080.
Depends on the game and what graphics settings make you happy. |

How does this look? I went for the standard black finish as I thought it would make the blue guts standout more. What do you guys think?
https://www.digitalstorm.com/configurator.asp?id=1634950 Edit: I went with the 1080ti won't have to worry about upgrading for a bit. I'll probably order a monitor keyboard and mouse off my Amazon prime to make it a little lighter on the wallet. Lete know of there's anything you guys would change. Do you think it's worth over clocking the gfx card or just leave it as is? Can't wait to start of gaming again and finally finish my dream project Rated r graphic comic/ RPG 😁 Edited by Talkingpixels - 22 Mar 2017 at 9:36pm |

Looks great.
I wouldn't pick the overclock option for the video card. Good luck. |

Looks good, however, all DS machines look good to me. The real savvy members will chime in with better opinions.
The Recovery option you chose has no cd and uses 50GB of your ssd. For $5 less you get 50GB of memory and the Windows cd. Also, note that the warranty is only 1 year parts. Enjoy. |

Quick question on the fans for the Velox. I noticed all the images around here show the Velox with matching fan rings colors to the wiring and/or hydrolux if chosen, is there a particular fan option we have to select to get this or do the original fans on the list already come with this color based on the choice of color chosen? |

I don't have the fans with the colored rings but you probably have to order them to match color scheme. Someone with them might chime in.
