Hey all,
Just ordered a velox build to replace my old digital storm build (had a lumos build before) and I remember struggling to deal with the PSU when I installed a new SSD on it. Wondering how hard it is to get the PSU out in the velox? I'm going to be replacing my 4090 cables for obvious reasons, so I thought I'd get a headstart on figuring it out. Anyone with experience? |

Congratulations. ![]() I have an old Velox and on mine the psu is just there out in the open with no cover at all. Very easy to work on. The new ones might have a cover.

The PSU in my Velox has a cover on it. However, it looks easy to remove.

replacing my PSU in the older Vanquish was actually very easy to do.
except cable management, but that's because I have large gorilla hands, and no sense of order or style. |

From what I was seeing in the picture it surely does seem to have a shroud. That was my issue with my current rig. I don't think those shrouds are designed to come out. Or at the very least I'd need to take the Mobo out to do it. Kinda looks like the PSU could just slide out if it's unscrewed from the back though.
Same though. I like cable management but if I was left to my own I'd be too lazy to make it look like ds does Edited by MaterialProject - 04 Nov 2022 at 5:45am |

I have the newer Velox build and the PSU will slide out the back after removing a few screws.

Thanks. That's exactly what I was hoping to hear. Should make cable swaps a lot easier in that case. Maybe a PSU replacement if I end up swapping to an ATX 3.0 one. Sounds like they're not having a great time with the 4090's either though haha. |
