Topic: VELOX-X FAN CURVES Posted: 12 Jan 2022 at 2:13pm |
Hi,
Just curious if there is anybody out there with a similar configuration and can tell me how they have optimized their fans for this case & configuration. Obviously I mean low noise & good cooling. MSI Click BIOS 5 case fans & EVGA X1 GPU are what I am experimenting with. Velox X/AMD 5900X/MSI X570 Pro Carbon MB/32GB DDDR 3200 DSPS/850W PS/500GB Samsung 980 Pro/1TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus/Sound Blaster AE-7/EVGA FTW3 Ultra RTX 3080 10GB/Liquid CPU cooler dual fan I think I am comfortable after playing around with the settings but curious how others have set their curves as they say. |

I have my Velox fans setup like this:
800 RPM when the GPU is below 70C degrees. Ramp from 800 RPM to 1500 RPM between 70C and 80C. Best of all, my GPU never exceeds 68C, so the fan speeds always stay at 800 RPM. That ramp at the high end (70C-80C) is never engaged. However, I keep it there for safety. I arrived at the 800 RPM fan speed just by listening to the fans. For my Noctua fans, that's a great speed for a pleasing, gently, low decibel sound. This Velox is amazing! It's the most quiet computer I've ever owned. I can play a graphically intense AAA game, and the computer is always quiet. Edited by JamesAstro - 12 Jan 2022 at 2:35pm |

I have always set fan curves at a 1:1 ratio: 20°C = 20%, etc up to 75°C = 80%. 80°C = 90%, and 85°C = 100%.
To this day I can run stress tests on 3 monitors on a 1070GTX and never break 70°C as posted in the most recent "I have a problem" post... Edited by Snaike - 12 Jan 2022 at 3:51pm |
