I just read that Windows 8 has a tendency to display the incorrect overclock speed. How are you guys checking this? I've tried CPU-Z and it only shoes default speed. Thank you.

You need to stress the cpu with a game or Windows Experience Index for CPU-Z to show overclock. On the bottom left the core speed will display.

Oh I thought the cpu speed was a constant like it was with my 930 chip. Ok I understand now. Thanks.

You can make it so it's constant and never downclocks, but really no point in turning on speed stepping. I run a decent OC on mine, and when I'm just browsing the web or not really doing anything at all, it downclocks to 1.2ghz on all 6 cores.

If you're old chip was showing a constant clock after being OC'd, then it simply didn't have speed stepping enabled.
