My video card has been taking a lot of punishment with the stock fan and such (I own a GTX 680). I recently bought an after market liquid cooler/fan and my card is actually running hotter with it connected. So now I'm just looking for a fan cooler and/or some tips for a better quality liquid cooling set up. Any and all feedback is appreciated.

Since I don't know your level of computer building skills, I'm going to start with the basics. First, make sure the new cooler is properly installed and is recommended you use one specifically designed for your GPU. Second, use a good thermal compound (Arctic Silver comes to mind) but don't use too much!
If you don't already have a proper liquid cooling setup, here's one place to start: FrozenCPU. You might also be able to find full kits from companies like XSPC, EK and Swiftech. And here's all you'll ever want to know about do it yourself water cooling: Tom's Hardware Water Cooling Guide
I'm sure there's someone on here that knows more than I do, but hope this gets you going in the mean time... ![]() Edited by fstcvc - 19 Jul 2013 at 11:46pm |
