So I am trying to save money and I need some advice on the best bang for my buck with a video card in a new system.
I will be using the LG W2753V-PF: 27" @ 1920 x 1080 I will mostly be playing SC2, L4D2, CS:S, TF2, HoN, and other games of the like.I generally stick to RTS/competitive FPSs though I will be giving something like Diablo III or GW2 a whirl. I don't imagine that I will ever be playing incredibly demanding games like FarCry 2 or Crysis. I do, however, want the option to SLI or Crossfire down the road to keep my performance up in a couple of years when the graphics on mainstream RTS and FPS games gets a bit more demanding. I don't really have a particular price range I am just curious what is really the best card I can get away with at top-notch performance with these games and still save a bit of cash. I appreciate any input you have, thanks! |

Without knowing a price range, it's tough to design a fitting rig for you.
I threw one together for about $2500, and it's about reaching the point of diminishing returns performance-wise. The 480 will run anything you throw at it easily. (423131) If you're looking to spend under $2k: 423133 SLI down the road isn't usually the smartest option. What you could do is sell your old graphics card and use that money towards whatever the latest and greatest new card is. Edited by Runes - 18 Jul 2010 at 12:15pm |

Does anybody know which of the power supplies are modular? I know the Corsair TX is not...that is about it though.
