Topic: Video card and AIO mounted upside down on Velox Posted: 24 Jan 2024 at 8:13am |
Hi, hopefully this is the right place for this post.
I have a Velox that's about a year old (this config). Here's a photo: https://i.postimg.cc/3NgkkY8R/IMG-2458.jpg I'm actually trying to sell this machine on FB Marketplace since I don't game anymore. But, I'm getting a lot of feedback that my card and AIO are upside down and will eventually fail. So, I can't sell it. People are literally saying "don't sell it like this, it's dishonest." I'd love to know why this box was built this way and if I can explain that in my ad. Obviously, FB Marketplace is a total dumpster fire filled with morons, but I'm wondering if there IS an issue there. The machine was always totally solid for me. I have a Velox and it is solid as can be. You are right, whoever is looking at your post on FB Marketplace have no idea what they are talking about.
The AIO is mounted correctly and have NO issues with my Asus Tuff Gaming RTX 3080. The Velox was designed to be a high air flow case, hence the design and the MB being upside down. There are numerous of videos on YT praising the Velox and it's build quality, direct them there. |

Yeah...what fwfdfireman said!
The Velox is a great case. Having the video card mounted like that puts it closer to the top of the case, and now all of that heat is right near the fans. It works really well. |

That's actually one of the best AIO orientations -- the pump/block is near the bottom of the radiator and the radiator has the tubes at the bottom.

All of that is well said, and well taken. But the first reason the motherboard is upside down is that the window is on the right. You can't secure a motherboard to a window, but if you did all you would see is he back of the mobo and none of the parts. The reason the window is on the right is to allow for the superior design cited above.

All of the above. The Aventum, Velox and Bolt (when it was available) are all exclusive DS custom designed cases. They all have windows on the right and mobos inverted with the gpu on top with the fans showing. (to me the best part of the gpu but...) Good luck selling it. It is a super nice and roomy case to work with and keeps everything inside cool with only air. That is a very nice and current version.
