Is the new BFG NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280 OCX 1GB PCIe 2.0 worth the money?  I'm currently running a 8800GTX...is my system compatible with it?  My current mobo is a nForce 680i.

Thanks for any input as I love buying the new stuff.Big%20smile

yes you can put a gtx 280 in a 680i board. Minimum recommended PSU is 650W.

Do not buy GTX 280 and instead wait for GTX 280+ (aka the 55nm part).

After looking at everything, I think I'll just opt for a 2nd 8800 GTX and run SLI.  Not enough bang for the buck.  I'm already getting great performance, and have had no problems playing any games...Crysis, UT3, AoC, CoD4, et cetera.  Playing all on maxed settings (w/ the exception of Crysis) at 1900X1200 and very pleased.

Anyone think that this new card will make that much difference, compared to 2 8800 GTX's?Ermm

As an ower of a GTX 280 vs a previous GX2, i can clearly say that its definally better then the GX2 by far. 88GTX im not sure, but it was definally worth the money...The benchmarks dont do this card justice...the games are just pure smooth and fluid..something a benchmark doesnt check.
