One of the reasons why I purchased this PC is because I was able to get my hands on a 3080ti Hybrid, which brings me to my question: can I just swap without uninstalling since, I believe, the drivers are identical with what is already installed?

I was able to do this for my previous upgrade between a 1080 to 2080. The people at EVGA seem split: half say it’s fine while the other half wants me to disconnect from network, uninstall then reinstall everything.

It won't hurt the card in either case. Just plug and play, and see what you get. I'd install GeForce Experience with the original card and see what the driver updater tells you when you plug in the new one.

Yeah I’m going to try without redoing drivers. I’m going to boot up later this morning for the first time and make sure everything is updated, login to windows, then I’m going to shutdown and swap cards.

Should be ok.

I don't like leaving GeForce downloading drivers as soon as they come out. I go to Nvidia directly and get them if there is a problem or a need. Sometimes there have been bugs involved with the new ones.

Enjoy.

Make sure you turn the psu off and disconnect from wall. Let the mobo discharge and ground yourself by touching the pc.

Here’s another question: this card requires two 8 pin power connectors. I assume using one cord with the tail or jumper is not recommended but instead pull separate cords each plugged into separate ports on the power supply?

Yep, I was able to just swap cards no problem. I plugged in separate power cords per 8 pin btw.

Excelent!

Your card is a 3080Ti? Mine has 3 x 8-pin connectors for power and its also an EVGA Hybrid

And to answer, yes each 8-pin connector should be independently plugged into the psu.

That would be the likely difference.

It has been addressed though, yes, using "pig tails" is greatly discouraged. You made the correct choice.

P.S. If you have not yet, I recommend using Precision X1's VF Tuner.

Do you know if precision added cpu monitoring temps back in? I switched to Afterburner ever since they got rid of that.

Yes, my RTX3080Ti is the FTW3 Ultra Hybrid. Those hybrid cards do help with the heat  a lot. That is the only liquid cooled hardware in that pc. The cpu is under a Noctua NH-D15.

Not that I see.

Afterburner does appear to have its own 1-click OC scanner.

Further research:

Since I don't think I can post links here is some info I found

• OC Scanner is now integrated into Nvidia's drivers, instead of being integrated into the overclocking utility. This allows Nvidia to update OC Scanner on the fly without needing to consult programmers for each overclocking utility and get them to update their software. Third-party software will communicate with OC Scanner via the NVAPI.
• MSI Afterburner will support both versions of OC Scanner, depending on what graphics drivers you are using. you'll need Nvidia driver 456.xx or newer to use the new OC Scanner implementation.
• OC Scanner now supports automatic overclocking for both GPU and graphics memory.
• OC Scanner will save and apply its overclocks on a driver level and automatically apply them on reboot. So leaving your overclocking utility running in the background is no longer necessary.
• Manual adjustment of the voltage/frequency curve is no longer available. (i.e. this applies to OC Scanner overclocks only, you should have manual control of the voltage/frequency curve still.)

I would guess that this only applies to the voltage curve created by the OC Scanner. Manually edited curves are probably loaded through your OC software (Afterburner, Precision).

If you have GeForce Experience installed you can reset the OC through the performance section of the overlay as well as change some basic things like power limit, fan speeds, and run the OC Scanner from there.

Source: Changed VF curve persistent even after Precision X1 is uninstalled | EVGA (Forums)

So, you could probably use Afterburner's OC Scanner feature to achieve the same thing. Otherwise, you could install Precision X1, run the VF Tuner scan, apply the update curve, and then uninstall Precision X1. Or just run the scan from GeForce Experience, apparently -- which I have not yet used.

Basically, my point is the modern auto/1-click OC features practically siphon every drop of performance with very little effort by the user.

... As opposed to the tediousness of yesteryear and the extreme extremist enthusiasts.
