Have been thinking of doing a graphic card upgrade lately. Currently have a DS system with the single GTX 260 . First I will be going with the 1000 watt corsair. (should of did that from the start) but oh well. So what would be a good route to go ? maybe 2 x 285? 2 X275? I don't have any monetary limit but don't want to go completely nuts on the price
and this will be in my HAF air cooled system I have a 24" samsung 1920x1200 . Edited by titusmckieus - 19 Jul 2009 at 4:43am |

I have the CORSAIR 750W. Although the PSU calculator says that 550 w suits my current set up. I am thinking of just getting the 1000 w to cover future upgrades beyond This next card upgrade. It may be awhile before I have this much to spend again

I guess 2 x 275 would be one way, but if its a core 216, then why not just add another 260? what resolution are you trying to run?

I have thought about getting another 260, but I notice that the 260's i see now are 216 cores and not sure if the one I have is the same. I don't think mine is 216 core. bought this system back in December. dont think the 216 was out yet
I run at full 1920 X 1200 res |

GPUz will tell you what you got
if its core 216 then just get another 260. when you say December do you mean DEC of 2008? |

as far as being able to run the 192 and 216 in sli and just putting the higher clock in the first slot or will the 216 step down to the lower of the two

matters the budget, if it is tight just add another 260, it will just perform the same as 2 192 models.
If the clock speeds, memory speeds are different, sli will utilize both cards at the slower clocks Edited by justin.kerr - 19 Jul 2009 at 2:20pm |

Then go (2) 275's, very good upgrade for the $$, as long as you play games that utilize SLI, otherwise it really won't be worth it. will need to wait for the next generation GPU's to get a big gain.

From what I am seeing most of the games I play can utilize the SLI technology
After looking over specs of all available EVGA cards. It looks like the 2 x 275 is the best option for value and performance. Thanks for the help. I think i have decided on 2 - 896 MB cards Newegg Edited by titusmckieus - 19 Jul 2009 at 3:57pm |

Needing a little clarification on this Here
Do you need to set up SLI for all the games you play. Or if the game can utilize SLI will it do it automatically. Without the need to go through each game profile to enable it |

all you need to do is enable SLI in the Nvidia control panel. Then you will be good to go.
