I know when I build my last pc most peeps said to go with XP pro.  They said it was better for game play for one reason or another.

Is there a better version of Vista to buy for game play.  Home, bussines, Ultimate?

Vista comes in basic, premium, ultimate.

For gaming Ultimate has no real incentive and overall premium has more benefits than the basic so the extra $20-30 is worth it.

Most Vista users are using premium unless they're using 64bit ultimate.

I agree with sundowner, Vista home premium is the best bet for gaming. I myself have upgraded my Vista boot to Ultimate 64, but that was more for testing and familiarization than anything else.

I was reluctant to go with Vista at first, but everyone here convinced me to do so.

I have not had any issues with it so far and all of my new games look great and the few older ones I loaded play great as well.

So far, I am happy with Vista

I was amazed at the differences between dx9 Hellgate London compared to dx10 Hellgate London. Just amazing. I'm going to finally re-install Bioshock tonight to see what difference dx10 makes there.
