Im sure that a lot of people know several things here, but I know that i love finding little consolidated guides like this, so i wanted to share:
highlighting TweakVista (after using this, i saw a 4-5% drop in idle ram usage, HUGE!
Microangelo On Display (remove the administrator shield and shortcut arrow from any/every icon)
perfect for any photoshop user who wants to add thier personal touch to their icons
then, a bit more into the visual range, http://www.caedes.net/ ... best backgrounds around, they ask that you sign up for extensive use, no spam involved. Edited by !ender_ - 08 May 2008 at 12:23am |

i dunno, 12 seperate items for near $30 a box seems a bit steep, an os can only be tweaked so much
although it is always nice to have Fred Savage as your face of advertisement Edited by !ender_ - 08 May 2008 at 6:38am |

I got a coupon that lets me pick it up for 28 dollars and I like the idea that they are a certified MS Gold partner. They seem to have good reviews on their site and at various shareware sites. I used Ashampoo WinOptimizer programs for years and I really like those as well. I definitely prefer a streamlined and tweaked OS.

the thing i dont like is that i dont get what more it would do for the 30 when there are so many free fixes, but hey, grab the trial and see for yourself! cant go wrong there! (back up your data)

I suspect its geared towards folks who are uncomfortable with tweaking their own system. I think I will stay with the Ashampoo products I have and see how that works for now.

my only real argument to that is that tweaking your own system is easy with patience, while the automated way may make people *feel* safer, permanent damage cant be any more un done with one than the other
