Hey all, I recently ordered a new Slade and I am both excited and
worried about my order. I am a first time Digital Storm customer, coming
to the company after hearing some good word of mouth from friends and
reading good reviews on a variety of sites. So far, however, my ordering
experience had been a little up and down.
I ordered the Slade on 6/5 and the order was processed on 6/6. After that, I tended to jump up the stages fairly quickly. Stage 1: 6/6 Stage 2: 6/9 Stage 3: 6/9 Stage 4: 6/15 Stage 5: 6/15 Unfortunately, my progress stalled at 6/15 and it has been 7 business days since then. Overall, the computer has been in production for longer than the 10-15 days since the order was processed, so I have gotten a little bit worried about what is going on. Is this normal? I know at least one other person who ordered at the same time as I did got their computer already, so hopefully their is not a problem with my build that has held it up during stress testing. My experience with Customer Service has been a mixed bag. The first time I called I waited on hold for 15 minutes and then got shunted off by the automated system and told to contact support by email. I did that, but got no answer, so I called again. This time, I got someone on the line after waiting for 5 minutes or so and I asked about the progress of my system - saying that it had been 15 business days since my order was processed (6/9-6/24) but that I was still stuck on stage 5. I was summarily told that the PC "might ship on Monday," but given nothing else. It would have been nice to get a little more information and possibly some assurance that my build (which is passed the 15 business days quoted when I ordered) would be a priority. It would have also been nice to have to option to upgrade my shipping. I would love to receive my computer before the end of next week, as July 4th makes next weekend extra long and, since the shipping companies will be off, it will delay my delivery to over a month since I ordered. It would be great to have my PC before the holiday. Now I am coming from a very bad experience last month with a competitor. Long story short, in May I ordered a PC from a certain "extraterrestrial" retailer and was given the run-around for weeks - finally being forced to cancel my order because it was being held up due to - get this - a shortage of XBox controllers (they cancelled my $2K order over a $50 item). They then tried to get me to reorder, starting from the beginning, for an increased price. So I chose Digital Storm because I heard their computers were top-notch and their customer service was excellent. Now I can't say anything about the Computer, since I do not have it, but the customer support experience has been a little disappointing. I am not trying to needlessly complain, and really I am posting this to first have a place to give my thoughts on my new Slade (when I get it) and, second, to get some reassurance from people here that this is normal and not to be worried. Check out the specs on my system below. It isn't the most high-end system, but I really am looking more for stability and long-term normal use than bleeding edge 4K gaming and top-of-the-line graphics. If this PC can last me for 6-8 years like my last one, I'll be a happy camper! |

I understand your frustration... but hang in there. I know the wait can be difficult and not getting the answers that you want when you want them kinda grates on the nerves a bit.
Shoot off an email directly to [email protected] or [email protected] and have them take a personal look at your order, where it is, and what's next. Sometimes a note from inside the system is enough to calm the jangly nerves that comes with this kind of purchase. Remember, you're getting one of the best; guaranteed, warrantied, backed up, buckled down and bet on. DS is doing their best to make sure that machine is going to be absolutely the best it can be before you even plug it in. Hang in there. Trust us, the wait will be worth it. |

Thanks Snaike. I am trying to be patient. I did send an email to the management address, so I hope to hear back soon.

@baelthazar,
I understand, we're sorry for the time your order has taken, it appears today is the 15th business day since we processed your order. I do see that we should be getting it to QA soon. Our team will be in touch, thanks! |

Thanks Alex, I sent an email to the management address, explaining my situation. I would like, if possible, to upgrade my shipping if it looks like the PC will not ship today and miss getting here before the July 4th holiday. I really do not want to sound like I am complaining, but my experience with that "other retailer" has left me paranoid! |

No problem. Lucky for you is that you choose us, and you don't need to worry as much. I sent you an email with shipping options.
