15% faster than the 2GB 5870 for a lot more cash.. only 2 monitor support per card, hot, draws a lot more power... only thing I do not know for sure is how overclockable they are? but from what I have seen so far, not as overclockable as the 5870, so maybe 6-%8% faster than a OC'ed 5870 2Gb for $100 extra, piss off Nvidia.. SmileSmile Failure of unimaginable perportions...ATI re-fresh will kill it, Nvidia does have some better cards coming, late summer, but then we are only 4 months from the 6000 series from ATI.... so I am writing this junk series off from Nvidia, and hope to hell the next series is a winner.Sleepy

I will probably be going for a single 5870 and wait a year for nvidia to catch up. The 4 series seems to be unimpressive compared to what ATI has right now.

Hmm, I'm not sure if I fall into the "I already have my dream system" category or not. I was putting off getting my DS dream system for a couple months, but after I realized it was going to be a few more months yet before the Fermi cards would be available I decided to just go ahead and get a DS system minus a graphics card and get a Fermi on my own when they come out later on.

Once I got her I installed three Intel 80GB G2 SSDs in RAID0 for the OS/apps/games (and they run amazingly) and my handmedown 8800GTS 512 Nvidia card from my old computer. So Lilim isn't complete yet, still missing a good video card, but other than that still a dream system.

justin you are looking at it from your point of view, which is not the majority, most users don't know how to oc their gpus, or won't cause they think its bad, so they will get nvidia instead of ati and not everybody wants multi monitor setup to begin with.

still, for all the crap Nvidia pulled on this card, plus its poor performance, and being a lot more expensive,   who in their right mind would buy this first gen Fermi? Dead

I can;t wait to pull the trigger here! Hopefully we'll know more next week and then i will decide which to get. Are the 2g 5870s out yet?

2Gb cards will be out next week, or week after, can't remember, but the reviews have ben out for a while.
