The resolution & frame rate you need for the monitor you will be using dictates much of one's configuration.

If you expect to do 4K at 60hz for $1,500 that might be tough to do. But other resolutions/frame rates could be accomplished in your price range.

There are some Crackerjack folks in the Forum that help configure on a regular basis. Let's see if we can rattle a few of their cages to get some advice from them to you for your price range.

You can't custom build a rig here for that price, but one of the non-customizable pre-built Lynx models will do well for you. You can't do much better than a Lynx level three ("Best") for the money at this site. The processor is an older model Intel, but features 8 core/16 thread gaming and won't hold you back.

The storage is a very fast 1TB NVMe SSD.

The power supply at 700 Watts will allow flexibilty for future upgrading.

The best feature is the 3060 Ti GPU. It is just about the best value bang-for-buck you can get these days anywhere. It will play almost everything at high or ultra at 1080p monitor resolution, and will not disappoint you on a 1440p monitor. If you could get one outside of this deal, it would run about $900.

It all comes in a case that features RGB bling built right in.

$1799, and well worth it IMHO considering how long and strong it will play.

The next level down takes away half the storage, knocks 100W off the power supply, and includes a GPU that will play pretty well, but lacks the new technology innovations like Ray Tracing and Deep Learning Super Sampling that make the 3000 series cards ground-breaking. Here's a peek at how the two cards compare:

https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-RTX-3060-Ti-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1660-Ti/4090vs4037

All those better features make the Level 3 worth stretching your budget IMHO.

Hope it helps.

...Apologies. I just realized you might not be familiar with the DS site. You'll find the Lynx pre-builts under Desktops > Lynx > "Best Sellers". They are not customizable, but sold as is. They are available to ship to you within 5-10 business days after you order is processed.
