Thinking about spending about 12k on an aventum 2 .. Waiting for the copper piping to be available.

Two words come to mind overkill, waste.
when you say working constantly, what do you mean? is this for gaming? if so what is the res you gonna be gaming at? We can't tell you what parts to get till we know what the pc is for, if its for gaming then we need to know the res of the monitor that is going to be used with this pc. If money is no object and you just want the most expensive and loaded rig you can get, which is what some want, then The Aventum lvl 4 Cryo-Tec is the answer. If you want the best gaming rig, without wasting alot of money then the Aventum Lvl 1 with whatever drives you want and adding the graphics cards under water is the answer.
If you game on a single 1920x1080 monitor, then sli gtx 680 is the best with the single Titan as a single card solution. For 5760x1080 surround then a sli Titan or tri-sli 680s. If you game on 3 x 30" 2560x1600 monitors then the case for tri sli Titan comes up. This is all general of course. Every need is different. Here's a link that compares various cards and games to help out. Of course, a Hailstorm 800D case with cards to match your monitor setup and H2O cooled is cheaper, but not the Aventum if that's what you want. Hope this helps.

@Apollo615,
Welcome to the community and thank you for your interest in our flag-ship Aventum line. $12K on a high-end system isn't a waste. If you truly want the best of the best of today's next-gen technology, and you have a budget that you can afford, then go for it! Do you need $12K to play games on a computer? No. But that's not the point. Why buy a Lamborghini when you could just by a Toyota to get from point A to point B? I'm sure the community here will be happy to help and give their own thoughts, if you need direct official help with any questions, feel free to contact me as well: [email protected] |

Alex replied in another thread that launch for Aventum 2 is estimated in 2-3 months but an earlier version can be ordered as a number of others have done.
Good luck. |

You know Alex, why stop at copper? One of your competitors made a 24 karat gold-plated PC awhile back. I think you could one up them by having a gold plated case, AND golden interiors.

Silver has the highest electrical and thermal conductivity of any metal on the periodic table. Theoretically a silver heat sink would blow a copper one out of the water, but it would be much more expensive...

Piggy-backing off of that question, is there a list of differences between the Aventum 1 and the Aventum 2?

I don't have a full list yet as it's not officially announced, but, it includes better hard drive storage, better mounting areas for the pumps, and improved efficiency of the exhaust chamber design.

One issue, the Cryo-TEC won't work with copper piping. You'll need to go with regular tubing if you want Cryo-TEC. If I was you, I would pick the copper piping over Cryo-TEC as you're still going to get awesome temps with the massive radiators. |

Actually, I'm glad you shared that Alex. It was kind of wondering how the copper tubing would respond to the Cryo-TEC, it seemed like it could be problematic from a variety of standpoints. |

Hi Alex... was curious the reason Cryo-TEC won't work with copper piping. I have an idea why but I'm sure this question will come up. Thanks.

The Cryo-TEC block we use does not allow for screw in fitting barbs that the copper pipes would use. That's one of the main reasons why.

Copper piping is mainly just for looks. We've had customers request that they would like something truly special when they have a very big budget, $8,000+ which is why we offered it. It just takes the concept of custom PCs to a whole new level.
Cryo-TEC cooling is awesome, it's definitely a great way to get low temps. Getting the Cryo-TEC system is not really going to get you higher overclocks as the CPUs don't overclock as high as they use to (pervious platforms). Plus, the Aventum's use of massive 420mm radiators provides a ton of cooling power anyways. Edited by Alex - 07 Apr 2013 at 10:11pm |
