Hey guys,
I have been pondering upgrading my graphics card because of a few incoming games I have on pre-order (Borderlands 2 and Dishonored). My laptop specs: Order Contents: - Digital Storm Laptop 233039 Quantity: 1 $1,771.00 System Configuration: Chassis: Digital Storm x15 8690 (Weight: 7.38 LBS) Display: 15.6 inch HD+ LED Display with Enhanced Super Glossy Surface (Resolution: 1600 x 900) Exterior Finish: - Standard Factory Finish Processor: Intel Core i7-720QM 1.6GHz (6MB Cache) (Quad Core) System Memory: 4GB DDR3 at 1333MHz (Extreme-Performance) (NOTE: Requires i7-720QM or Higher Processor) Inputs: Gigabit Ethernet LAN / Card Reader / eSATA Main Storage: 500GB (7200 RPM) (16MB Cache) (SATA Laptop Hard Drive) Extra Storage: - No Thanks Raid Option: - No Thanks Optical Drive: DVD/CD 8x Multi-Drive (Writes and Reads DVDs, CDs) Wireless Access: 802.11 A/B/G/N Wireless LAN Module Features: Integrated Video Camera / Bluetooth Outputs: HDMI 1080P / DVI Port / SPDIF Audio / Headphone / Microphone Video Card(s): ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 1GB External TV Tuner: - No Thanks Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-Bit Edition) Recovery Tools: Windows Recovery Toolkit (Bundled with Windows 7 CD) Protection: - No Thanks Office Suite: - No Thanks Benchmarking: - No Thanks Install/Test Game: - No Thanks Carry Bag: Standard Carrying Bag External Cooling: - No Thanks External Keyboard: - No Thanks External Mouse: Razer Deathadder Gaming Mouse (High-Speed Gaming Grade) External Speakers: - No Thanks External Storage: - No Thanks Full Warranty: 3 Year Platinum Care Labor & 1 Year Parts Warranty The 5870 has served me well, but I wanted to make sure I was in the best position I can be, and figured with all of the new cards coming out, something will most likely be better than what I have. The issues I have are knowing which cards I can actually fit into the chassis, and what the best cards I have access to would be. All advice and help is much appreciated, and if you need more info from me to help, just ask away Edited by Odyssey996 - 09 Sep 2012 at 11:28am |
