Hey, I was wondering.  When you enter DSO, you are greeted right away with computers at a certain price that are already built.  I have seen every single case accept the "Ultra" case for uncustomized builds on your front page.  Why don't you guys put in a build with the Ultra case for your front page?  Also, I think you guys should add in that extra 5 fans for $50.00 on the customizing thing.

I wondered that too, the Ultra is a sweet case. Big%20smile I would always customize but did notice the Ultra was MIA on the prebuilts. I agree on the fans as well-would be a good upgradeable option. That was a minor disappointment when my rig arrived and the Ultra was lacking the side bracket for the 4 extra fans. I wasn't aware that was an extra. The same for fan placement, I thought the Stage 3 would put in extra fans but it is just the upgraded heat sink. I'm sure DS would have put in more fans with a phone call, but like you said having an option to add fans online would be a good idea.

Hey ^^ what was your build?  and is there a "gripload" of room in that case, even after dual cards are put in?.

I only got one GTX, but there is plenty of room for an SLI setup in the Ultra cose.
I have to be honest, this case is by far the biggest case I have EVER seen. Then again
this is my first gaming case. The pictures just do not do it justice. DS did a fine wiring job.
I would have paid more to have a better wiring job but for the price its fine. I took a few
pics and will take some more when time permits then write a review both here and reseller reviews.
I'll also put up the pics. Smile

The Ultra got replaced with the Extreme. They are both priced the same so it would not make much sense. And more setups to pick from would only add more confusion for the customers.

adding the 5 extra fans for $50.00 hardly would confuse anyone though.  There could definitly be more options on certain things, just not everything.  that other site that was being discussed had way to many things.  All I am saying, is some things could have a few more options.  Doesn't matter ether way, I think DSO has the perfect customizing period.  Few more options wouldn't hurt though.

As far as the fans you can put in the request and DS will add it to your system. I've already has better fans at home so it's a non issue for me Smile

Hi. New forum member here with a DS rig being built as I type. I went with the Ultra case because, to me, it has a bit more charisma and style than the Twister Extreme case.

Have you seen the new HP/Voodoo "Blackbird002" that launches this month (image below)? Truly extraordinary--both looks and features and WEIGHT! I believe the boutique community-of-PC-builders would do well to revisit case design in general--things are becoming a bit staid and  maybe too dependent on fancy paint jobs. I'd buy this system in a heartbeat but I don't do HP and had a bad experience with Voodoo PC about 10 years ago. Oh HOW I WISH that case was available from DS!

hehe, everybody likes different things.  Me personally,  I don't like the blackbird case, I think fugly.  I don't understand why I don't like it, I dunno, to me it's just a ugly case.  I am not to fond of HP either, In my opinion I hate that company.  I am typing on my mothers computer right now and it's a HP, arg so many problems with this stupid computer.  I rate HP computers the same as eMachines.

That case is out of control - I think it's the most badass looking thing I've ever seen. If it were available when I was placing my order, I probably would have paid an extra couple of hundred bucks to track one down if possible and use it in my build..

Yep, the blackbird case is very nice. As far as options, I think more is good. Gives the customer choices and if they get confused over having additional fans a call to DS would be in order to pick components regardless. LOL Actually, I got confused because of lack of information. In the Stage 3 cooling description it says it will put in extra fans to optimally cool the case. On the Ultra case no extra fans are added, just the upgraded heatsink which is fine but confusing. So yes, having a choice of adding additional fans on the order page in my view is a good idea.

Speaking of more options. I would like to see configuration options for more hard drives, i.e., Hard Drive 1:   Hard Drive 2:  Hard Drive 3:  and Hard Drive 4:.  Some cases can hold up 7 drives. Not advocating 7 config slots but say up to 4 would give folks a chance to configure that area a little to their liking and also see how it impacts the overall cost of your config.  Make sense, yes/no?

I was referring to the pre-configured setups. More customization would be great.

We're going to be working on the configuration options for our website pretty soon actually. I know that we're going to offer some more hard drive options, definitely up to four drives. However, the fan thing probably won't make it. Our systems come out safely cooled already. We only offer the fans to people when we feel there needs to be extra cooling. So we don't offer it in hopes that a person won't need it. If they do need the fans, we call them and let them know. It all has to do with the end product noise level of the machine. Too many fans make it too loud. So we try to figure out how many fans will be needed here in-house before we even call the customer to assure we get the quietest stable build.

Dave, it's good to hear the staff is working on more configuration options.  That's what make DSO what it is.....a caring company.  Sometimes I wish I worked for your guys.

Makes sense. More options is always good. I do know DS will order whatever parts you want, which is awesome. Having those choices in the online configurator is even better! The choices now are great but having more options never hurts. One option is motherboard options. That was one area I thought was a bit limited, but I was looking at the EVGA 680i anyway so I was happy.

To be honest that was one of the things that attracted me to DS. It had all the parts I wanted and I figured since they have al limited selection they should be very knowledgeable with what they have. I guess theres always two sides to every coin but I for one like having all the options sensibly possible!

The fan option is no big deal, they're easy to install after sale. Just a question though, on the Ultra case-that plastic side panel for the 4 extra fans is an added option? I actually thought that came with the case but didn't see an option to add it? I only plan on adding an additional exhaust fan on the top of the case but was curious about the side panel. Thanks.
