Does anyone know the specific model of Western Digital hard drives DS is using for their 500GB and 1TB models. Are they Caviars and if so are they Blues, Blacks or Greens? I can't figure out which ones since they only have 16MB of cache they can't be the Blacks but they don't make the Blues in 1TB versions. Would appreciate the model numbers if possible.

the 500GB I believe is blue, the 1TB I'm not sure about.

If there is a particular HDD you like to use then you can simply request it and they will use that brand/model for you, it will cost a bit more but you get exactly what you want.
