K, i might seem nit picky but in all honesty i find the new setup of the Gaming Computer page to be poorly organized.
Firstly you click on Gaming computers, and think: OK This must be the place were i find what im looking for, then you see the gallery, and it makes you want your own computer So you scroll down and click Customize Now on one of the options And it brings you to the Select Chassis screen So you Click CUSTOMIZE NOW , yet again now it brings you to another page, with another gallery of the same case you just viewed in the regular gallery, and some DS awards and reviews. Now you have to click CUSTOMIZE now, for i think the 3rd time, just to get to the actual customize page. My suggestion1, take away the Select chassis screen, its somewhat useles, because you can still select the chassis in the customize page. Suggestion 2, instead of having the second gallery and DS awards page, make it so the first Gaming computer page links straight to the customize page, and have a Link on the Customize page that you can click on to view the DS awards and reviewpage |

@<8) slunK parade,
You make some valid points, and we done our research as well before we did our updates.
For a user that continuously goes to those pages, yes, it can becoming annoying because you've become use to the direct customize links that were once there.
However, the additional pages are very useful and informative for new customers. The more information/pictures the better from what we have seen.
Also, when a user looks at for example, the 'Customize' category, if they are interested in one of the configurations, the best wording would be 'Customize Now' to let them know this is what you need to click on to move froward versus a 'Select Chassis' button.
However, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I would like to get some feedback from others as well, but, before you do say anything, take into consideration that you are a new visitor to Digital Storm's website, and that you don't visit the configurator on a daily basis.

The select chassi dialog is actually really good usability for someone looking to purchase a new computer.. I do agree that the "customize now" blocks are way too below the fold and the call to action to them should be stronger.
One thing that is really annoying and I would suggest they change is the navigation. Having the navigation change depending on which section the user goes in is really confusing and makes it difficult for users to try and figure out where they're at on the site, especially if they're just navigating and checking things out. Makes it worse is that there are no breadcrumbs (outside of the forum) for users to find their spot again. Primary navigation should never change. I'd suggest a secondary navigation that can swap depending on which items you'd like to display though. |

We do want/need the more/info pages and such. However, what if we changed the buttons:
1. Select Chassis
2. View Details
3. Customize Now
