Our configurator now has more options! - Hard Drive 3 (Third hard drive option)
- Overclock CPU
- Overclock Memory (Clock Speed or Timings)
- Overclock Video Card(s)
- Tweak Windows Services
- Benchmarking Software
- Pre-Install & Test a Game |

Question....when overclocking GPU's, is it wise to have liquid cooling?
By the way, I really like the phase 2 update. for one, it's not confusing which is excellent, 2.) that 3rd hard drive is by far a great addition to it. Also I love how you guys added games to be installed or pre-installed, for a gaming PC company, that is by far a great GREAT thing to have, you guys even to the drivers and check out the game to see if it's all good? thats excellent.
So whats phase 3? lol Edited by Bigdog - 13 Nov 2007 at 4:00am |

For the CPU overclocking you still need to select stage 2 cooling correct?
And for the RAM what's the difference between the two options? Which would be better for gaming? Edited by sundowner - 13 Nov 2007 at 5:31am |

Overclocking: How high we push the hardware will all depend on which type of cooling system is selected. Memory: The higher clock rate is good for number crunching, however, the lower timings are better for gaming, higher (FPS).
We will have charts to show how high we will overclock each option: cpu, memory, video card(s) within a few days. Right after we complete our in-house testing.
Phase 3 is including a special 3D Mark tool that will allow you to compare the performance of the machine you are actually customizing against your current computer. It will also have fine tweaks with new pictures and the overclocking charts, etc. Edited by Alex - 13 Nov 2007 at 11:52am |

Really nice improvements. Really nice. Everything is easier to follow so far, no more "what is stage 3 cooling" questions.

"Pre-Install & Test a Game"
Great.. now our DSO builds will be delayed weeks while Dave or Kelly "tests" crysis on some of the high end machines.. for the 45th time :)
Can I get a job at DSO making sure the preinstalled games run?
Nice updates. Links or sidebar graphs on how much performance you will get from each option (dependent on currently selected hardware) will be really helpful.
FYI: The info links for each of the overclocking options currently go to random or missing pages.

The configurator is much improved now. Great job. You guys still need to correct the dimensions on the extreme case though.

hey i really like all the new options, and it actually made a lot of thing clear for me (DSO overclocking wise), and i am looking to purchase one within this month. But one thing that is bothering me is that the price of the system i had configured (Q6600 + liquid chilled CPU) included the twisterboost with the liquid cooling option, whereas now I have to pay extra for it.
FYI i still want to buy a DSO and it won't stop me, but i was just wondering why you guys made this move.
or i might've been wrong about the price change :D
anyways, ill be contacting you guys about a purchase soon.

You're not paying extra... it's actually cheaper now.
The old price for liquid cooled twister boost was $299 while the current liquid cooled + overclock is $225 + $35 = $260. |

okay under the Twister PRO Intel it still says "liquid chilled CPU only +299".
i didn't see the price you mentioned, or is this price just for the twister pro intel?
this is my saved customization btw if you want to take a look at it and tell me what you think.

I was customizing the extreme and I just noticed it has air stage 2 cooling selected at default =p |

When doing a custom build the OC'ing section doesn't come up so that might confuse some people...

Great looking out! We are working on getting that section up and running with the new overclocking options soon. And we are going to take care of the case dimensions. Thanks SkyR. Edited by Alex - 15 Nov 2007 at 2:23am |
