I'm a film-maker/editor and also work with animation and 3D design by trade.
I also like to produce music and play games as hobbies.
This is what I'll be using this PC for.

Do you guys think this build is too overkill?
I don't wanna spend 10 grand if I don't have to(but am willing to if best), and I honestly don't know a whole lot about specs.
Would be great if you guys could help me out :)

Thanks in advance.

I DON"T KNOW!!

BUT! I found what appears to me to be an excellent article for you to peruse. It asks (but also answers!) a number of questions I could not answer for you, but will guide you quite well in your search for price/performance. Be sure to check out the links provided for extra info. It may well be you want a Threadripper for extra PCIe lanes, but only if you maximize GPU rendering. Lots of choices outlined here depending on what software you'll prefer.

I often conclude with "I hope it helps", but in this case, I don't know how this article could not!

Good luck.
