And is it really worth the upgrade at this point in time? I was thinking about a GTX 570 or do you think it would be smarter to wait for the 600 series cards?

That's still a decent card is wait for the next gen cards from nvidia or ati or both. I know nvidia is on its tock for the next gen cards which means greatly increased performance.
