Let me know what you all think of this AD. Please answer the questions I have, that would help us a lot!
1. On first glance, does this appear to be a computer company?
2. Does this ad seem easy on the eyes and something that you would actually look at while flipping through a magazine?
3. Does this AD grab your attention?
4. How does it flow when you see it grab your attention and it's job in luring you into our website to check us out?
5. What do you think about the text at the bottom?
6. What do you like, and not like about the AD?
7. We were thinking of changing the sub-head line from "Maximum Performance" to "Maximized Performance" -- what do you think?
Thank you for the help!

1. yes
2. makes the eye jump around alot but yes I would look at it. 3. yes 4. well for me Alex to be honest the 950si is a great case but its not great looking, a more aerodynamic case like the comsos s would be much more attractive. To be honest the case that attracted me to DS originally was the 850si (only on looks at first) 5. text look OK, your image looks a bit blurry. 6. I like the top text, I like the laptop on top, I like the looks of the 850si case, the logot and text on the bottom left, I like the glossy color on the back of the laptop. I don't like the look of 950si, or the other cases other then the 850si, I don't find them welcoming, I don't like how I can't see the screen of the laptop, 7. I like Maximum Performance over Maximized Performance, cause Maximized Performance, has a cap sound to it, as in the performance is caped some how, Maximum has more of an infinite feel to it. But thats just me. |

1. Yes.. that would be fairly hard to miss.
2. Definitely.
3. Yes.
Alex, I LOVE this ad. This is seriously the best ad I think I have seen you post here. You finally did something with that laptop that makes it *really* pop off the page. It might be just a smidge too busy, but seriously, this ad is slick, and that is a minor, minor complaint. I've been paying attention to the ads DSO runs in major magazines, and in banners on websites when I see them. Refer to my first sentence again please. I can almost *always* find something I don't like about the ad layouts. You have really done very good work here.
I can find some fault with the text (I did warn you I am a fault finding
I like the first block on "Twister Boost". It's exciting, and it's up to the level the rest of the ad sets. Two sentences, simple, direct, good delivery of your message.
The text block on the liquid coooling feels a bit run-on, and it breaks with the two sentence format of the other two text blocks. I'm not overly fond of it.
The third text block is "OK". The first sentence seems a little bit weak. it's not that it's bad, I just think you could do better making that first point, which is that customer service and satisfaction is a high priority.
The final sentence is lacking mention of the DSO staff which actively participates in the forums. Perhaps:
"Visit our website at DigitalStormOnline.Com now and customize your next system with the assistance of our expert staff and advice from a dedicated community of hardcore gamers, knowledgeable enthusiasts, and past customers."

I like how the ad looks overall.
Regarding your last sentence:
1. Drop the URL in parenthesis. Anyone who is not blind will see the URL at the bottom right of the ad.
2. I think saying: ".... customize your next computer with the advice of ...." is better grammatically.

Hit the nail right on the head with the A ---... -coughs- I just noticed Comapany bwahahaha. Did everyone else notice that or have I gone insane? XD;
Either way changing it and stating to read the customer review was an awesome change. |

Other then what I said before, it looks great, why not say "upto 4 year warranty" instead of 3 year warranty.

hahaha. I can't believe we didn't see the "Company" typo. (Photoshop doesn't have spell check; I wish they did).
DST4ME, that sounds good, but, not we don't want to be misleading either... Maybe add (Up to 4 Years) afterwords? What is your take on that guys?

I would say leave it at 3 year. I think it'll get visually confusing/diluted if you add too much text there, and if the ad does it's job, the person reading this advert is going to visit the site and see the 4 year offer.
The text block on customer satisfaction has alot more impact now. Much improved. It reads like you mean it.
I still prefer the red to parenthesis, but maybe I'm missing an extra charge for more than one color in that text block (that or I'm the only one that likes that
Can't believe I missed such an obvious typo.

No big, I was reading under it since that was the more distinct change, then my eyes averted upwards, and saw it ahah.

1. At first glance, I love it. It's definitely an eye-full. Especially with the water cooling rig in the front.
2. Yes, it is easy enough on the eye. And I like the red. It definitely will capture the attention and you can work from there.
3. Oh heck yea. Though the only thing you might wanna consider is have a 2nd or 3rd with different game logo's for those who like different games.
4. I think it does very well at luring down to the bottom of the ad where your URL is.
5. The text at the bottom is well proportioned to the rest of the ad.
6. Well, as above, I love the red rig in the forefront. Anything wrong with it??? Nope.
7. Maximum vs Maximized would probably go more into semantics. I mean, if someone wanted to "pick nits", they may ask "well, what *is* maximum performance?" Other than that, I would stay with "Maximum". Though if you're worried about that, you may want to alter the ad to have a disclaimer about the overclocking to the limit of constant stability like you do on your web site.

********* usually turns people down because they won't be bothered to deal with a company that has to advertise with special terms & conditions.

The first version had the lower text appearing washed out in comparison to the second version. I like the overall look and effect of the advertisement. I think that if you get too much into text, however, you will lose the interest of the consumer. You want them to get just excited enough to want to look at the website. Shiny pictures say a lot!BTW, I think a fade of the colors on the top background would match better with the second section's background fade.
It's nice that it's not overdone like the wholesale maket kings... ibuypower and cyberpower. Those ads always look tacky. Edited by widdlecat - 09 Sep 2008 at 7:16pm |
