my friend has one... awesome mouse.

however, since there are two types of ways to hold a mouse... with your fingers or using your entire hand, it didn't work out for me since the "butt" was bigger on it.

I went with the Diamondback (the new 3g laser model) because it has a similar shape to my standard logitech that I use.

Kelly, What would you rate the Razer deathadder vs the copperhead?  is it just a comfort issue?
Also what would you rate the diamondback vs copperhead?

I bought a copperhead cause it seems like a very nice mouse.

Also that Zboard, my friend had one he said he didn't like it that much, but I never used one though so I wouldn't know.

check out this fricken mouse: http://www.saitek.com/uk/prod/cyborgmousev3.htm   That is INSANE!

Upgrading to a better mouse is definitely on my horizon.

Right now, I use a logitech MX-something or other. It's a 5-button (2 standard, scroll wheel can be clicked, plus it has buttons on the side to line up with my thumb and ring finger - I usually bind those to crouch/prone and reload) plus a 6th button that acts as Alt-Tab.

Keyboard I'm using is the MS intelli-model that game with my DS rig.  I have a somewhat odd method of using the keyboard for games...

I use the arrow keys for movement, the right half of the keys for things like jump, use, etc, the insert/home/Pg Up/etc for leaning, grenades, etc.

I have never in my life used the WASD assignments.

So as long as the keyboard has plenty of room around the number pad, I'm happy.

edit - oh, and I have a logitech 5.1 speaker system and use an LG 19" (non-widescreen) monitor.

The DeathAdder is the best mouse I've ever used.  I am looking forward to getting the Lechiss or whatever it's called.  It's supposed to make the deathadder like the logitech crap mice ;)

The zboard sucks.  That's why it's on my secondary system ;)

(...logitech crap mice...)

Man, I love my Logiteck G5.  Is the DeathAdder reallly a lot better.  I've never used any of the "snake" mice.  And what's the Lechiss.  Is it  out or coming out?  I'm sort of out of touch.

Looking at some of the mice mentioned, I didn’t know that there was a big difference between them meaning I didn’t realize that there was a difference in tracking time with them. I’m still trying to understand the specification differences between them in order to choose the best one. Looks like a good mouse pad can make a big difference in mouse performance too. But I think that even if did get the best mouse I’d still suck at Quake 4 online. I am using a Logitech Mx518 mouse and a Saitek Eclipse keyboard with blue light.

P.S.

I forgot to mention something. I got a Gyration Ultra mouse because I thought it was a great idea for a mouse for many purposes. Although it’s not meant for gaming, I thought it would be interesting for shooting games. I wish I could get my money back for it.

I use the Logitech G15 keyboard, Razer DeathAdder gaming mouse, and Cambridge Soundworks 2.1 speakers (at home) or Sony ear-enclosing headphones (at LAN parties).

For voice chat, I actually use the cheapest unbranded headset/mic I was able to find at Fry's, because it's comfortable and all the others I've had (Sennheiser, Logitech) have had their mic crap out on me after only a couple months.

G15 keyboard: I love the thing because the lcd really does come in handy, there are plugins for it to display Fraps, PCWizard, Ventrilo and a bunch more! The lighting is really good because it displays the characters themselves, not in between the keys. Only gripe is that some of finish on the keys is wearing and letting light through..

Razor Lechisis (replaced my copperhead, which replaced my diamondback): I just got this Nov 2nd and I am still getting used to it. It has about the same shape as the diamondback. It is super smooth.. I am trying to give it time to see which one I like better. I also have a Logitech G7 which I like, but not as much as the razers.

Razer Exactmat: I use both sides depending on the game.

HPA2 Headphones: best out there IMO... wouldnt play without em.

I'm using a Logitech 518 mouse I just picked up to replace my dying logitech (discontinued).  Unfortunately the page up and page down buttons seem to be much harder to press on the fly than my old one, I'm not sure if its a problem with this mouse in particular, or all 518s. I play WoW quite a bit, so I use every mouse button at my disposal.

For my keyboard I just got a Saitek Eclipse II. Newegg had them last weekend for $30.  I'm adjusting to it from my old Dell, and like it so far. The wife thinks its "pretty".

And lastly I use my Nostromo 52 for all my non-FPS games. Its pretty huge having all those buttons available, comfortably, right at my finger tips. For FPS's though, I still prefer ASDW on the keyboard.

Microsoft Keyboard and mouse.
Compaq 7550 Monitor

The keyboard is fine. My two finger hunt and peck method doesn't seem to stress it at all.

The monitor does what it's supposed to do.

The mouse... I think I'll be looking for something to replace this mouse. I don't care for it. I mean, it's "ok". It does what it's meant to do, but it does so slowly, and sometimes I have to ask twice, which is anti-helpful while gaming.
