I have an i7 9700k in my Lumos. It is paired with an RTX 2070 Super GPU. System is connected to an Alienware 34" 100Hz, 1440p monitor.

The only game I play is Digital Combat Simulator (flight sim), which runs very smooth on max settings with this setup.

I also have 32GB of Corsair 3200Mhz DDR4 RAM and a 1TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus SSD.

The cpu is not what determines the gpu. It is the monitor. With your cpu you can get any gpu that will max out any game in your particular monitor's resolution and it will not bottleneck your cpu in any way, (I think).

Monitor and budget. If whatever you have works well enough, this is a really bad time to upgrade video. Even the slower cards are way overpriced, and sometimes hard to get.
