Bought a Digital Storm computer a few years ago and I got 2 DDR4 Digital Storm ram cards, 16 GB total. I wanted to upgrade to 32 GB. The brand on the ram cards are Digital Storm. Will any DDR4 ram cards work with the two I have? Are we able to just buy hardware from Digital Storm and get two of the same kind? Any recommendations on ram that will work with these existing cards? Thanks

You might want to look at crucial.com. The have a "System Scanner" download that will help you with compatible upgrades and the like.
Yes, of course they are going to push Crucial products but at least you can see what a matched pair, or 2 matched pairs, will entail. Good luck. |

Speaking of DDR4 memory...what are most of you Ryzen folks out there running? 3200? 3600? Higher? Just curious if anybody has experimented with any of the faster sticks and actually noticed a seat of the pants difference vs. just Reddit bragging rights.

I am using DDR4-3200 CL16 in both of the systems in my signature. It is said and appears, 3600 is the "sweet spot" when pushing for performance. However: • RAM timings are just as important as clock speed • RAM speed, including latency, is most significant/noticeable at higher frame rates (alongside CPU performance) -- Therefore, 1080p gaming is going to benefit the most with increased RAM performance while 4K is practically none because it is GPU bound • More RAM and higher RAM OC put extra strain on the CPU (i.e. memory controller) -- As with any OC, the thresholds vary by sample. Basically, there's no guarantee RAM will reliably operate at the rated XMP/DOCP speeds. Same here - 3200 CL16. Your links echo what I found as well...you might get a handful of frames, but nothing noticeable so not worth it.
