Apple already sells computers & tablets with these specifications (and even some Google products exhibit this). MS has a much more difficult time with battery life due to the multitude of hardware so it's hard to low level code the software for maximum efficiency. Now when it comes to the Surface, since MS created both hardware & software it should have out performed every other tablet on the market with it's specific hardware to the platform. There are several articles floating around the internet about this subject...

HailStorm II
i7 4770K @ 4.5GHz
Asus Maximus VI Extreme
16GB Corsair Dominator Platinum
3xSLI EVGA SuperClocked GTX TITAN
Samsung 840Pro SSD 256GB+512GB
HydroLux+XSPC CPU/MoBo/GPU Liquid Cooling
