Lets say i have a twister lite and I have a twister extreme.  I download World of Warcraft on both of them.  What will be the noticable diffrence?

I have a decent compter now that I constructed and while it has been fun I am tired of working on it. World of Warcraft and many other games played fine on it. I would consider the twister lite to be an upgrade.

You do know you're referencing cases?  WoW, the video game, and the case have no collation.  What are you looking to put into the case?  That's what you need to ask in relation to the game.

If you just take the basic system from the DS website and compared the two.

Lite

Extreme

Well the extreme is probably at the least 2-3 times more powerful than the light, and at the most 5-6 times, hence the price.

Probably the most common build that DSO currently gets, which is probably 50-60 FPS higher on average than the lite.

The reason I asked was because I have been running World of Warcraft on a intel P4 3.0gh with a 1gig ram, radeon x1600 pro.  and it run really great. I also play Battle field 2142 and it does a pretty good job.

But I think I want to get a new computer and really do not have the budget for a extreme computer and think the lite would be a better upgrade then what i have now.  The only game I am looking forward to playing in the future is warhammer and it will not be that demanding.

Like I said that build is well worth your money, but a few things could be subtracted if your budget isn't that high.

If the question is in regard to World of Warcraft, which is FPS capped, and not the most demanding title graphically to begin with, the answer I think, would be "no". You will not notice any difference, at all (provided the resolutions are kept within reason). It's a bit like asking how much faster you could get to the post office, providing you obey the speed limits, if you take a Diablo instead of a WRX. You are going to look *infinately* cooler in the Lamborghini than you will in the Subaru, but the travel time is going to be identical. Taking the analogy one more step, the WRX is still a nice car with plenty of pep, and you don't have to sell your internal organs on the black market in order to buy one.

Same thing with the computer configs DSO offers. The Lite is a nice system. It will do well enough for games like WoW, and it's a system within reason price wise. The only thing I would consider changing would be that GPU. The 8600GTS is just not a very impressive graphics card for the price tag. Given the fact you will not be running SLI, you could always ask DSO about getting a system made using the ATI HD3850. It should be in the same ballpark price wise as the 8600GTS, but they are in nowhere near the same league in terms of performance.

Thanks for the info and great comparison. I just read on toms hardware a comparision on the card you sugested.

Here is the artical.

I can never really justify to myself spending more then 1,500 on a computer system.  An never go with brand new hardware onthe market knowing in 6 months it will drop in price greatly somtimes.

Will I have to find a difrent Mobo for them to install If I went with this the 3850?

Nope. You can run ATI or Nvidia on a 650i mobo. Since it's not set up to run SLi, there's no disadvantage with running a non Nvidia card.

Any PCI-E card will be able to go into any PCI-E x16 slot on any motherboard.
