When will Digital Storm have the 5970's in stock?

hmm, the 5970 must be some card to go out that fast !!

To be honest, it's because ATI's yields are so low. They are trying to produce a really fast card, but, they can't properly bin or (cherry pick) enough that are rated at the fast speeds.

the reason I don't want a 5970 is the same reason why I didn't want the 4870x2, why pay that much for a card in oct or nov, just so in 3 month, nvidia will put out the card that cost the same but beats its pants? just like what happened last year with the 4870x2 and 295, the same thing will happen this year, and from past experience, for myself I have learned that if its 3 to 5 months its better wait and get a better card for your money, if it was longer I would understand.

in this case its even an easier discussion cause they are hard enough to get, and instead of $599, everybody is charging more for them because they are hard to get, so as a consumer you are taking it up the ass in 2 ways, a). finding one is a frustrating ordeal and not a fun ordeal, and when I'm spending money like that, I want the experience to be fun and not frustrating.

b). since ati was kind enough to not take us users into account and just wanted to get their name on the top like Alex said, we get to pay even more for the nice frustrating experience their selfishness has created, isn't it just great for us as a consumer?

anyways, that would be my argument as consumer from a gaming point of view.

as for my own use, ati can even fold worth carp vs nvidia cards, so they are useless to me.

don't get me wrong I'm not saying they are not good cards, I'm just saying everybody is acting like this is the last card on the planet and its so great, its not, people were saying the same thing last year this time about the 4870 and 4870x2, by end of jan this year, I didn't hear anybody about them anymore, not one.

same thing will happen this year, once fermi comes, everybody won't even remember if it was 5870 or 5860 or 5890 till then let the people that hype stuff up, hype it up, they have a short time, let them have their fun.

to each his own anyways, everybody got to do what they like, I think waiting is a better choice, but to others it may not be, do what makes you happy

now let wait and see if nvidia does the same or will they have some consideration for us the consumer and have enough so that we don't have to chase one down for weeks.

Yep, DST says that the Geforce Fermi will be availbale before FEB 1, I say after, looking like wayyyyy after. lol Going to enjoy that $50.00 soo much.

but they forgot the other part of the bet... the winner has to pay Kaleliar $100...

EK is shipping the water blocks for the 5970's on Monday!!

I'll bet ya DST4ME, same $50 if it comes out before Feb 1.  But it must be a high end card like a GTX.
