I will have ONE 24 inch HD Monitor. i have no idea on the resolution. Will i notice a difference from 2 cards to 4 on ONE monitor? is one Nvidia GTX 295 good enough for ONE monitor?

1900 x 1200 you won't notice anything pass:

2 x 285

2 x 275

1 x 295

1 x 5870

anything more then the above will not be noticed, and by that I mean we can come in the middle of the night and take out anything pass the above and you would never notice it, not from playing games.

so in other words you will not notice the difference between 2 x 275 and 2 x 285 or 1 x 295 or 1 x 5870.

so in a way perfomrance-wise in 90% of the games out there you will not notice the difference between the 4 options.

so seeing that you can't tell the difference in performance and that 1 x 5870 cost the best and is the only one that has dx11 support, it becomes the obvious choice.

I'm an nvidia fan myself but I'm a fan of performance also and right now ati has the best.

as for 4 x 285, you can get a system with 2 x 275 and get the same performance as 4 x 285 at 1900 x 1200. the same goes for 2 x 295.

the only reason I don't recommend 2 x 275 anymore is because the 5870 is a single card and gives the same performance as 2 x 275,b ut the 5870 has dx11 support.

the only thing you're gonna notice is numbers on chart , and possible increased numbers on electric bill depending on what sort of psu you had to upgrade to.
other than that, you won't notice a single difference on game play experience
