Was reading about the new Aventum line but when playing around on the DS website with different builds, I found that I could build a Syndicate to rival and in some cases beat out the Aventun's options.

I'm going to be purchasinga 5 digit system soon (>10K) and really was curious which way would be better for gaming:

Option 1
Digital Storm Syndicate
2x Dual (Intel Xeon E5-2690 2.9GHz (20MB Cache) (Eight-Core CPU)
Stage 4 Liquid Cooling

Option 2
Digital Storm Aventum
Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition 3960X 3.3GHz (Six-Core)
Cryo-TEC

The rest of the builds were pretty similiar
- RAM
- SSD
- Dual 690 Cards
etc

Main choice comes down to chipset and cooling.

Hi CarbonExtreme.....Welcome to the forums.

I saw your post before but was hoping someone that knew workstation setups like the Xeon would chime in.  I don't know workstations but here goes.....

The Aventum is DS's latest and greatest case for extreme gaming and cooling, so much better than the Syndicate's small footprint and cramped quaters.

For gaming you could save $500 and go with the i7-3930k and drop the extra cach associated with the Extreme 3960x.  Not needed for gaming.

For the Aventum and your budget I would start with Aventum level 2 and start adding the video cards you want and add Aventum liquid cooling for cpu, chipset and cards.  The beast is made for it.

Hope this helps and best of luck..Big%20SmileBig%20Smile

Hi CarbonExtream,

You can't compare stage 4 cooling, that just LC cools the CPU and the GPU with air cooling, to the CryoTec system. With the CryoTec system you get extreme cooling on the CPU and LC on the GPUs. Plus you get the Aventum case that uses out side air to cool the radiators. You are asking about two different configurations.

I suggest you open a new thread in the configuration forum and let us help you build a system that meets your requirements. It is a lot easier to help you in one thread so we can keep track of what has been discussed.

Frank

The Aventum features things that the Syndicate does not, which is why it's naturally more expensive:

1. Unique exhaust chamber design
2. Thermal management system with control board for up to 13 fans, LED lighting, and modify/monitor via Windows with Aventum software.
3. Supports three 420mm radiators versus standard 360mm radiators on the Syndicate.
