Hey all i am placing my order tonight i hope and have got my pc all set up. However there are to many mixed reviews of ssd drives for intel.  So i need to know which intel ssd would be best to go with right now? 506409 is the ticket number for my pc. I know about the new ssd in april however i cant wait that long my current pc is dieing. Also when does this 10% sale end? Thanks for the help.

The new Intel 510 series has faster sequential (large file) speeds but slower random small file speeds than older G2 Intel series. They also use a third party Marvell controller instead of their time proven Intel controller.

Considering fast random small file speeds are the life blood of SSDs, and the change to a third party controller, I just don't see the appeal unless they can get the price points on the 510 series down significantly. I would just stick with G2s if you can't wait for the G3s to come out in the next few weeks.

It doesn't, those are just their base prices (for close to a year now). Their only actual sales are usually on holidays, when they take off another 5% and/or offer extras for free like extra warranty time and such.
