i have tried gameboost which i believe is from the same company and havn't really noticed a big difference

If you have a decent PC then no, readyboost will do nothing. if you have 1Gb of ram, yes it will help.

Played around with it a bit. If you have >2gb of memory, you won't notice any difference, really.
