The main reason for my upgrade:

Playing nVIDIA 3D on Max setting
Having 3 monitor setting for my racing games Max Setting

My ordered is already pass stage 4. But I wanna make sure it will fulfill the reason I am upgrading.

Thanks

Just for gaming or are you doing things like 3d design a lot?

I can tell you right now you made some mistakes.

12GB of ram, bad idea for gaming and pointless.

getting upgraded fans and then also the option to drill side panel for more fans is pointless and very loud, specially for a LC system.

ocing the gpus, pointless again. but I guess in this case its free and on LC so that one I guess is ok here, but you won't see any gains from it, specially in tri sli setup.

now what size moitors do you have? cause mostlikey that tri sli is pointless and overkill also.

now instead of getting the things I pointed out, money would have been better spent and performance would have been better if the money had gone toward a better HDD like a good ssd and better LC parts for better temps.

the 980 will not perform any different in games then the 920.

My setup is already at stage 5.

I did my research and was very aware of the Heat/Temp issues with 480's. So I did my best so there wont be any issue. Did talk to DC rep and I guess no one mention as an overkill. Maybe I should have posted here first Wink. BTW what do you mean by better LC part?

Monitors wise.

I am planning to have 3 Monitor setup. (3D)

I am moving to a new house. And I am pretty much revamping my gaming room.

I have G25 wheel with chair and I need to set that up with 3-3D monitors/3DTV.

But I also dont want to comprimize my Setting due to 3D. Hence was to play games like Metro/Crysis on max if possible on my 3D nVIDIA setup.

you can't play crysis maxed out no matter what you do, specially if you are talking about 120Hz monitors.

and if you are with 120Hz monitors then maybe 3 x 480 is ok but I'm not an expert in multi monitor on 3D.

DS is not in the business of telling what is overkill, they are in the business of giving people what they want, we are the one here that will tell people its overkill cause we are here to help other members to get the most out of their money.

look at my pc in my sig (click on it for a larger pic), better parts for LC is kinda what you see, a trip rad for the cpu for much better temps, a triple rad but 14cm (bigger) for the 4 x 295 that I have and future upgrades to 4 x 480 or whatever else is there when I'm ready to upgrade, better gpu blocks, better fans (less noise, better temps).

Saw your RIG very nice Ouch.

I am not blaming anyone. I am very happy with what I am going to get.

During the customization, the only options I had were different stages of LC. Should i have asked for differnt parts?

To be honest you had to come ask us here first then we would have shown you what to get and what not to get then we would have shown you what parts to use for your LC, these parts are not in the config section, we are taking about a truly custom build here.

your pc is nice, I'm not saying anybody did anything wrong, to be honest I have never gone and bought anything and have the company tell me its too much, I just don't believe its their place to do so.

if its not too late ask them to drop the extra 6GB of ram that you won't need and see if you can get a ssd for it, or you can add the ssd yourself when you get the pc.

you can follow my clone guide here to do that.
