Topic: Win 7 64 bit Sp1 failure. Posted: 01 Mar 2011 at 7:43pm |
Tried to install KB2345886 and get error 80004005,Try to install KB976932(SP1) and get error 800f0826. Tried to install a couple dozen times. Did everything from Microsoft on how to install SP1 and even uninstalled my AV,Malware program and even my graphic card drivers. Tried troubleshooting in WU,Tried the reset fix etc all to NO avail. My system is running great and I really don't want to do a clean install. I have NEVER had any problems with updates only the two that are mentioned here. I'm at wits end. Any help would be appreciated
My DS system is running great and gaming and programs are A-OK!!!!! If I tried a repair install would that fix the problem. Do not want to reformat. I am running Windows 7 64 bit. |

Try uninstalling your security apps and then update, see if that works. disabling is not the same as uninstalling btw.

repair will just reset the windows regkeys, everything else will stay as is, in short all you have to do is install updates and reinstall drivers.

Glad to hear that, you had a bad update or faulty regkey, either way, you don't anymore
and now you gained some experience and know how repair works, I love repair, cause I hate reinstall, for me its a pain. |
