I came across an odd problem with windows 7 start and drop down menus.  They would not stay open.  for instance when I would try and restart my pc I'd click the small tab nest to "shut down" and as i moved the curser to the restart it would close.

I seem to have resolved this issue by removing my 2 usb thumb drives.

Has anyone seen this issue before and do you think it could be the thumb drives causing it?

ShockedAndydViking,

Had a similar problem with the start menu running Vista HP. Had to click the start button numerous time to get it to stay up.

My problem was thr MX Revolution wireless mouse. I really loved that mouse; SOOOO programmable and around $50 at WalMart. But not very well built...I still use it for games but is way sluggish compared to my new (much cheaper) Logitech mouse.

Anyway, that was the problem and a new mouse was the cure.....JPTOuch

Thanks.  My USB thumb drive seemed to be the culprit (I think) in my case.  Very Weird.
