FrustratedCurious, sorry if this is a repost, didnt see it. But windows 7 is not alowing me to go beyond 1600x1200 home resolution. Is this just something i have to deal with, or can i get around it?

Windows shouldnt restrict monitor resolution, a monitor however will if its not capable...vga, dvi, and hdmi all have different resolution "caps" set forth by your monitor. For example my monitor is max 1400x900 while using the standard vga hookup, but when using dvi or hdmi my max resolution becomes 1900x1200...So make sure your monitor is capable of doing the resolution you are seaking, if you are able to go higher according to your monitors specs, I would suggest downloading the lastest drivers for that monitor off the manufactures website. But ive personally never heard of windows restricting someone from up-in their resolution if the monitor is capable of doing so...hope this helps

Look up your monitors native res, what gpu do you have? you got the gpu drivers installed?
