So is mostly everyone sticking with 7 or getting 8? I'm never a fan when a new OS comes out from Microsoft, when I place my order I will stay with 7 Professional 64-bit.
It seems that 8 is geared towards touchscreen/ tablets? Or should I reconsider and get 8? |

I have windows 7. The only two OS's i have ever used in my entire life was Windows 95(8 to 18 years old)and Windows Xp. I like windows 7 and i don't think i'll ever go to 8.

I have Win7 and probably won't update. Usually I get a new OS with a new computer. If I was buying today I would get it with Win8 just for different.

Generally speaking I only update an OS when I change to an entirely new machine. For example, my current rig will remain Windows 7 until it becomes unusably slow or explodes My next machine will utilize whatever OS is big at that time, which is hard to tell given Microsoft's recent change in release strategies.

put it this way. If you have windows 8 tablets and do alot of work with it. Then you should grab 8. But if you are just doing regular web surfing and gaming/media stick with 7. Im skipping 8 all togather i dislike how its all running and set up. If i wanted to use a phone ui on my monitor i would some how hook up my phone to a tv. Windows 7 is great, my favorite microsoft os by far.

I am staying with Win 7 until there are good reasons to switch. I am trying to stay ul in the buzz but I don't see any reason to switch yet.

I have Windows 7 on my Hailstorm and I have Windows 8 on my laptop, I hate Windows 8 and will stick with 7. It could be that I have not given 8 enough time for me to understand it but I will stick with 7.
