Windows 8 'to offer PC gaming focus'

Microsoft's next home operating system will have a large focus on gaming, according to a report.

Sources at Techradar have said that Windows 8 will be a serious attempt at embracing the PC gaming community.

"Windows 8 will represent a real new push into PC gaming," said the source. "Gaming will be a key component for the whole OS."

Microsoft has improved its efforts over the last 12 months, with the relaunch of Games For Windows and the announcement of Fable III for the platform.

Details of the gaming strategy have yet to be revealed.
